Bound to You #2 is a minimalist work exploring the relationship and nature of Bonds, as both a physical and social entity. By using rope 'bound' over simple coloured fields the rope is tied in a variety of abstract patterns inspired by hojo jutsu (the Japanase art of restraining a person using rope) and kinbaku bi (the beauty of tight binding) the rope itself becomes both brush and paint. The material and patterns themselves explore the relational idea of being bound; whether to an object, an idea a person, group or spiritual presence.
