"Without You I'm Nothing" belongs to a series of three works devoted to the end of the story of Romeo and Juliet, when the two lovers find themselves in a confused situation where death is simulated by a potion before happening. for real. Here, Romeo discovers the apparently lifeless body of his young lover and, in an attitude that evokes an inverted Pietà, he cries over what he believes to be her remains, devastated at the idea of living without the one he love. This painting is a one-of-a-kind artwork made in mixed technique on canvas which combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (shiny lacquered glazes and raised squares that look like inlays of glass). The canvas is signed and dated on the back. The painting is framed with black wood (total dimensions: approximately 66 x 41 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
